STAWELL - Stawell West Primary School students were jumping and skipping on the final day of term.
Their excitement was not due to the fact that school holidays were just around the corner, they were busy taking part in the annual Jump Rope for Heart jump off at the school.
The morning commenced with a demonstration of skipping routines presented by girls from Ararat West Primary School skipping team. The girls demonstrated a variety of skipping techniques and routines that they developed themselves. Their routines used both short rope and long rope techniques.
With Double Dutch, skipping while bouncing on a ball and many other spectacular moves, the routine was well received by staff, students and parents who attended.
It was then time for the Stawell West students to take centre stage, taking part in the annual Jump Rope For Heart Jump Off.
Students participated in a range of skipping activities, with enthusiastic teams and individual students displaying their skills, working together and confidently trying new activities.
As part of the end of term celebrations, the Junior School Council also conducted a Crazy Friday, where students - and teachers - were asked to wear crazy hair, clothes or shoes.
The costumes and crazy hair were all showcased during a whole school parade on the basketball court during the morning.
Students participating were asked to make a gold coin donation to support Animal Aid.
