Stawell Warriors have taken out the highest club honour of the 2016 Wimmera League season as it was named club champion.

The Warriors had all seven of its netball teams feature in finals as well as three football teams.
The under 14 football team were the only players to miss out.
The award was the beginning of a successful night for the Warriors who took home a number of trophies.
Stawell Warriors senior football captain Tom Eckel was awarded star player.
The award is voted by opposition players and Eckel was honoured to receive it.
Eckel was also around the mark for the Toohey medal, but fell two votes short.
Eckel was pipped by Horsham Saints gun Sam Clyne in the final round after he polled two votes.
Eckel had a standout season for the Warriors, but he was unable to lead them into the grand final.
The Warriors lost to Minyip Murtoa in the preliminary final by three points.
Nathan Sabbo on the other hand has done what Eckel couldn’t, and will play this weekend. Sabbo took out the reserves league best and fairest on Monday night.
Sabbo was absent from the evening, but the trophy was accepted on his behalf by Stawell Warriors president Debbie Bach.
Despite missing the first three games of the season Sabbo finished strongly polling 17 votes to win from Warrack Eagles Jordan Taylor.
In the netball it was Stevie Bibby who took out the Heather Hatcher medal.
Stawell Warriors goalie and reigning Hatcher medalist Jemma Clarkson polled 11 votes to finished equal sixth.
Chantal Thomas finished third in the B grade count which was comfortably won by Ararat’s Megan Shae.
Darcie Jelly finished fifth in the C grade vote count.
After a successful first year of senior netball Jelly also took home the C grade rising star award.
On Saturday the Warriors will have three teams playing. The under 13 netball will kick things off from 8.30am at Horsham City Oval. Followed by the under 15 B Grade and reserves football.
