My name is Adam Hill and I have been in the sports journalist position at the paper since July 18 while doing some general news stories when time permits.
Football and cricket are keen interests of mine and I am enjoying the fact that i am surrounded by sport each and every day.
I have already been down to check out an Ararat Eagles game and i look forward to ticking other teams off my list in 2017.
I can talk about sport all day everyday and have diverse interests in many leagues and competitions.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Wrestling Entertainment always get my attention along with my favourite football team. I am a die-hard Western Bulldogs supporter and member and enjoy attending most games throughout the year.
I grew up in west Gippsland before moving away to pursue a carpentry and joinery apprenticeship.
My family lived in Drouin during my teenage years and it made me realise how amazing country towns are to live in.
I certainly missed the country fresh air when i had to move to the big smoke in 2012 to start my study.
After a while I realised that building houses was not for me and so I decided to pursue something in the sport industry.
There is just something about being able to communicate important information to the wider public that I enjoy.
With so much going on in the world I think it is important that we stop and enjoy the good times in life and I aim to bring the Ararat community as many good stories as possible.
I enrolled at La Trobe University as a mature age student to study a Bachelor of Journalism and i graduated at the end of 2015.
Everyone I have encountered in my time up here so far has been really helpful in assisting me with any queries or questions.
A special shout-out needs to go to Romy at First National Real Estate for helping make my relocation as smooth as possible.
If there is anything that you would like to discuss with me then you can call me on 5352 2442.
I look forward to getting to know more of the Ararat residents along the journey and if you see me around then feel free to come and say hello.
