The Hawks were eventual winners in the contest, but scraped by, defeating the Bombers by just one point 12.8 – 80 to 11.13 – 79.
Lack of accuracy cost the Bombers as they had four more scoring opportunities than their first placed opposition.
In the first quarter it seemed the Hawks would win comfortably allowing the Bombers to score just four behinds to their two majors and five behinds.
In the second quarter the Bombers played considerably better but were unable to catch the Hawks.
The Hawks maintained their lead for the remainder of the game with the Bombers saving their best quarter until last.
Former AFL player Josh Fraser scored six goals in the contest.
This win puts Tatyoon in pole position to win the minor premiership and have lowly Ararat Eagles in the final game of the regular campaign.
