The Department of Health and Human Services has committed to a $300,000 upgrade to amenities at the centre.
The upgrade will include four new bathrooms and refurbishment of the four existing bathrooms.
“The new bathrooms will increase privacy for our residents and help update Macpherson Smith to be more home-like,” nurse unit manager Alison Fischer said.

Two residents, Phillip Biggs and Margaret McIntosh, have been chosen to represent the residents and provide advice as part of the project management group.
Stawell Regional Health is also using the opportunity to install overhead tracking.
“This will increase the safety of residents and staff when less mobile residents need to move around,” health board chair Howard Cooper said.
“The board takes the safety and comfort of residents very seriously. It is a very high priority for us that our senior citizens are treated with respect and that they are afforded the most comfortable and safe environment that we can provide.”
