The backline withstood Melton’s forward thrusts for the entire round 10 fixture.
To be given a run up forward to keep warm in the arctic Ballarat conditions.
Meg Wik top scored as half the team kicked goals against the inexperienced Centrals, who are one of the newest teams in the Ballarat league.
Long-term players Chelsea Wilson, Ayesha Nicholson and Carrie Slorach kept the ball moving forward with help from Nekaela Butler while Alyssa Humphries relished her switch from the back-half with a four-goal final term.
This makes it the third week in a row the Storm were able to keep their opponents scoreless.
It followed another impressive performance when they hosted East Point Dragons in round nine.
East Point was unable to pose a threat in its forward line while the Storm piled on 20 goals in the 131-point win.
Inaccurate kicking saw them squander many opportunities, kicking 4.7 in the first term.
They soon straightened up and piled on 16.4 for the remainder of the game with the defence unchallenged.
Wik made the most of the forward advances with a bag of eight majors.
Isabel Kettle and Alyssa Humphries added seven more between them.
Wik has been dominant with 14 goals from the past two games.
The Storm are now equal first on points but remain third due to their percentage.
They have 784.62 per cent compared to ladder leaders Redan’s 1589.06 per cent.
It leaves them needing some big wins to catch the top of the table side.
But it also shows they are well in in the hunt for a strong finish to the 2016 Ballarat league season.
The Storm can continue their winning form when they play Darley at Creswick on Sunday at 1:30pm.
