The Vic Country side lost to rival Vic Metro 14.8 (92) to 14.10 (94) in round two of the NAB AFL under-18 championships on June 13 and had a bye in round three.
Berry is captain of the squad.
Younger brother Thomas will captain the under-16 Vic Country side.
Berry said the captain roles were pleasing for the family.
“It’s obviously very humbling for the family to receive such an honour for the under 16s as well as the 18s,” he said.
“I think it’s the first time in history that two brothers have captained.
“To see Thomas get that opportunity and cement his name in the game is pretty exciting.
“Hopefully he can get picked up in the top age. There’s a real sense of pride from me.”
Berry said his side was feeling upbeat despite the recent loss.
“The boys are still positive, we did improve and played a four-quarter game effort wise,” he said.
Berry said the Victorian side was in good spirits after the bye week.
“We trust our method and that we’re good enough to come home with the win,” he said.
Berry said he had been struggling with his own game.
“Partly because of the lack of continuity in the game and because of injury, which is frustrating,” he said.
Thomas Berry’s under-16 side will face Vic Metro in round one on Sunday.
