Players from Chalambar and Elmhurst joined both Willaura and Aradale on the Aradale greens. The day commenced with golfers enjoying Brian’s soup and the ever-popular saveloys to get them going.
Willaura’s team of 10 players returned a combined score of 308 to win the Pyrenees Cup for 2016. Aradale, also with 10 players, finished not far behind on 296.
Elmhurst came in third, with its 10 players firing 257. Chalambar had two players participating in the event and they returned 47.
Lajos Seres from Aradale and Willaura’s John Johnson topped their respective club’s individual winner’s list with 38. Chalambar’s Merv Fox fired 25 to finish first for his club while Lynden Murray was Elmhurst’s best player with 32.
Garry Cooper returned a winner following Saturday’s stroke competition at Aradale Golf Club.
Cooper fired 91-11-80 to claim the spoils, from runner up Campbell Gibson 103-21-82. Brian Richards scored a nearest pin double on the eighth and ninth holes.
This Saturday is a stableford competition from 11:30 am while Sunday is a stroke, starting at noon.
