There are fears the move to the lower-rating content provided by Ten will see their local news cut as savings need to be found. 

But WIN TV CEO Andrew Lancaster said on Monday they would stay committed to local bulletins. 

“There has been so much written about the future of news, both in regional and metropolitan areas. WIN's commitment to news is stronger than ever.  WIN produces 16 half hour news bulletins and an hour-long All Australia News bulletin each weeknight," Mr Lancaster said in a statement. 

"No other network matches that. Combined with the talent, experience and resources in the TEN newsrooms across Australia, viewers will see comprehensive news coverage at local, state, national and international level."

The deal will begin on July 1, and will see Ten content on WIN’s channels. 

The Nine Network dumped WIN for Southern Cross last month, in a split linked to a court case over Nine streaming its metropolitan content to regional areas, as well as a disagreement over revenue-sharing. 

WIN Corporation owner Bruce Gordon also owns 14.9 per cent of Ten.
