The Wimmera side was slow out of the blocks, allowing Sunraysia to build a comfortable first half lead.
Wimmera played better football in the second half but the damage was done, with the home side prevailing 85 to 55.
Wimmera coach Brendon Bryan was disappointed with how the first half panned out and said his side lacked intensity and accountability.
“We matched up well with them in the second half,” Bryan said.
“That just makes the first half seem more disappointing.”
Bryan said the Sunraysia team was not overly big, but the players quick around the ground. The game was broken open early, which allowed both teams to run the football. Bryan said the free-flowing match was played at a high standard.
The best for the Wimmera were Cooper Bateson and Lucas Dahlenburg.
