Open days, book fairs, school productions, and the launch of Karen-English stories were among the events during the week.
Stawell Primary School staff and students had a busy week, which kicked off with a book fair on Monday.
Principal Robyn Jones said a family forum followed on Tuesday.
She said the aim of the session was to allow parents to provide ideas for the school’s future.
“It’s good because the parents get the opportunity to have an input in what happens for the next four years,” she said.
Mrs Jones said the school ran an open day on Wednesday, with an abundance of prep parents and grandparents attending.
She said most of the school’s students and some parents took part in National Walk Safely to School day on Friday.
“We also had a free barbecue breakfast,” she said. “It was a successful week.”
Warracknabeal Secondary College also hosted an open day.
Assistant principal Louise Amor said the school opened most classrooms to students’ families and the wider community.
She said an open cooking class was popular.
“Parents came in and cooked with the students,” she said.
“It’s good to get the parents in to show them what is happening in our classrooms.”
The college’s Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning students also devised a community quiz containing questions about Warracknabeal.
Horsham West Primary School and Haven Primary School started Education Week with a healthy breakfast.
Both schools had open days on Tuesday, which included a picnic at Horsham West and a parent’s coffee lounge at Haven. The schools’ assistant principal Janine Baker said it was a great week.
“Our grade sixes competed in a maths Olympics on Wednesday, and we had preps visit the Haven campus who might enrol next year,” she said.
Horsham’s Holy Trinity Lutheran School capped off their week with performances of the musical Joseph on Thursday, while Horsham Primary School ran an open day for new families on Wednesday.
