Grampians Tourism chief executive Will Flamsteed said leading marketers would flock to the town for the conference.
He said the goal of the 2016 conference was supporting tourism operators to further develop their digital marketing skills to meet the demands of changing visitor expectations.
“We’re excited that we’ve been able to secure so many expert speakers,” Mr Flamsteed said.
“Each speaker at this year’s conference is a leader in their field providing local tourism operators the chance to learn from the best in the business.”
Mr Flamsteed said the headline speaker at the conference would be David Hearn, the head of communications design at Dentsu Mitchell.
“David has worked with some of the most iconic brands, including Nissan, Schweppes, Coca-Cola, Disney, and Cadbury,” Mr Flamsteed said.
“At the 2016 Grampians toursim industry conference, he’ll explore the future trends in consumer marketing (focusing on digital) and factors affecting the consumer’s decision to travel.”
Other speakers at the conference will include:
- Anne Koch, lead digital strategist, Evoloution7, who will speak on digital strategy innovation.
- Dave Roberts, ranger in charge, Parks Victoria, who will provide an update on the Grampians Peaks Trail.
- Ian McDougall, business development manager from Victorian Tourism Industry Council.
- Melanie de Souza, acting director of marketing from Visit Victoria.
- Will Flamsteed, chief executive officer of the Grampians Tourism board.
The conference will run from 11.45am to 6pm on June 1 at Ararat’s Alexandra Oval Community Centre.
The cost of the conference is $55, which includes the conference program, lunch, afternoon tea and networking drinks sponsored by Grampians Winemakers.
