The team is off to a flying start in the under-13 competition. Last Friday night, the junior footballers ventured out to Moyston for round two.
Warriors came up against Mounties in game one. It was a hard fought, skilful game despite the wet conditions.
The ladder leaders started strongly and remained consistent throughout the game. Mounties were right in the contest until the end, with their younger players putting in a great effort.
Jim Jennings led the way for Warriors while Callum Roberts was named Mounties’ best player.
Game two saw Bombers and Rovers go head-to-head.
Bombers put in a solid team effort throughout the game and that showed on the score board. Rovers’ tackling pressure was strong, and they never game up until the final siren.
Zac Hitchcock booted four goals for the Bombers while James Phillips was best on ground. Ryan Heard was outstanding for Rovers.
Friday night footy returns to Alexandra Oval this week, and the canteen will be open with plenty of hot food and drinks available.
