GWMWater has advised customers in Stawell and those customers connected to the Stawell water supply system will no longer be on stage two water restrictions from 6pm on May 3.

However, Stawell customers are advised that permanent water savings rules still apply.
The authority said recent rainfall and cooler conditions had resulted in a sufficient drop in water consumption to enable the Stawell system to start gaining water in its town storages.
Stage two water restrictions were introduced in March as an interim measure to ease demand on the system and ensure the ongoing security of supply to Stawell and surrounds.
GWMWater said stage two water restrictions still applied to customers in Lake Bolac, Moyston, Wickliffe and Willaura and those supplied by the Mount William headworks.
