Matthews picked up three nearest the pins plus finished runner up on Sunday. To round off a successful weekend, he also claimed the money hole.
After the rain on Saturday night, scores reflected the changed conditions with club president and vice president both being awarded the Naga with 101 respectively.
Ken Mahney claimed the Saturday stableford spoils from Brian Richards on a countback. Both players returned 40 points.
Marcus Matthews claimed nearest pins on eighth and ninth holes.
Jamie Batobalani returned 96/23/73 to win Sunday’s stroke event. Matthews was runner up with 88/12/76 and he took out nearest the pin on the eighth hole again.
Brian Richards scored on the ninth hole and Mick Collins fired a birdie on the eighth.
This Saturday is a a stroke event and Sunday is a mystery day. Golfers are reminded memberships are now due.
