The Lions will meet Penshurt in what is going to be the first of five tough matches.
Coach Andrew Bach believes it will be a good character building month for his troops.
Coming off a win Bach is confident in Great Western’s ability to play football but said at times they lack concentration.
“The signs of good football are there,” Bach said.
“We need to stay switched on for four quarters and be more consistent. I would be happy if we played three quarters of decent football, but at the minute we play in patches.”
The Lions will be without BJ Burton who suffered a hamstring injury in last weeks win and Danny Hoare is unavailable.
Jay English will make his way back into the line up and give the Lions a good target in the forward line.
He will compliment Sam Cocks who is coming off a five goal haul against Ararat Eagles.
Bach was pleased with Cocks performance and hopes he can play like that again this week.
While Penshurts are a strong team on paper Bach said the Lions will be taking it one quarter at a time.
Lions play at Great Western Oval at 2.00pm.
