The U13’s started the day with the same determination as last week going down 44-1. Their only goal came in the second quarter and the cheers from the crowd could bee heard from afar. Best players were Reanna Stewart and Sasha Woltjen.
U15’s went down by 32 goals, 34-2. Tabitha Bibby was rewarded for her good footwork in the ring and always coming to the ball along with Alice Woltjen with her impressive defence work.
U17’s tried their best but Lexton were a better side on the day. Georgia Bibby and Maggie Clough were best on for their combined efforts in the goals.
C Grade girls built on last week’s efforts and are showing signs that with a few basic improvements they will be a much better side in the weeks to come. Monique Stephens started in WA but after swapping into WD proved that this is her position on the court and with that took home best on court honors along with Anna Knights and Lillie Comitti.
B Grade had three players out of their line up which saw them encounter a tight and well contested game. They went into the final quarter with a one goal advantage.Despite their best efforts they came away with a disappointing 25 -20 loss. Shae Hannett was awarded best for her mid court drive along with Trish Martin in the goals and new recruit Matilda Douglas in defence.
The only win of the day came from our hard working A grade outfit. However the win did come at a cost as it saw two of girls going down in the third quarter with injuries. This meant they had to battle out the game with one short on the court, but even so the girls proved to be a far better side with a 19 goal margin at the final siren. Best player was awarded to Taylor Mason followed by Rachel Wood. Navarre will travel to Talbot tomorrow.
