The senior citizens have been fundraising for a long time, but on Saturday night they reached a goal that was set seven years ago.
There was 106 line dancers from across Victoria who attended the social as well as dancers from across the border of NSW and SA, giving up their time and money for a good cause.
Stawell Oncology department have been the recipient of the fundraising which reached a climax on the weekend as the line dancers raised $1911.60.
The money raised on Saturday night at the social resulted in a total of more than $15,000 since the group was first formed.
Almost 10 years ago to the day Stawell’s senior citizen group decided to start a line dancing group that consisted of a mere nine people and now extends to 60 people from all over the region.
Event organisers were thrilled to reach their goal and suggested this would be the last of the line dancing socials.
The line dancing aspect of the club was created as an activity for the Stawell senior citizen group.
The total money raised in the 10 years is $15,190.
