Almost 100 Stawell residents made their way to Central Park to catch a glimpse of the stars while the primary students took part in their clinic.
Included in the travelling group were high profile players Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury, Ben Reid and Alex Fasolo who were clear favourites among the crowd.
Collingwood players were pleased with the turn out and the clinic that they were able to run.
While many AFL football clubs have graced Stawell with their presence the equipment that Collingwood used was superior from other years.
The Collingwood players spread themselves across 12 stations with each group of students spending approximately seven minutes at the specific activity.
Fasolo was one of the many players who looked forward to taking part in the clinic.
“The boys loving getting out and going to the small country towns,” Fasolo said.
“It is good giving back to the community hanging out with the kids, its fun it is exciting.”
Collingwood had an official greeting with some of the local football clubs earlier in the morning and were looking forward to hitting the track with them later in the afternoon.
“It is something we all look forward too,” Fasolo said.
“It keeps us busy but it also gets us off the training track.”
Fasolo is excited by the prospect of an injury free year after a successful pre season to date.
“I am going really well and as a club we are flying, we are all really fit,” he said.
“We are looking forward to the season, preseason has been really long and we are looking forward to the real stuff.”
Fasolo personally had not seen much of this side of Melbourne and enjoyed getting to know the Wimmera.
“It is nice to get out to the country and see the other side of Melbourne,” Fasolo said.
“We meet kids that don’t get that kind of opportunity so that is great. It is unreal there is 60-70 kids today so it keeps us busy.”
Following their visit to Stawell the Collingwood footballers continued down the high way to Ararat.
Another super clinic was conducted on Wednesday at Alexandra Oval.
Collingwood have been a hot topic in the news of recent times with coach Nathan Buckley set to re-sign.
The players were unsure where the coaching agreement was at and said Buckley would work with his management to get the best decision for the club.
