Event coordinator Peter Milburn said preparations for the festival had been going to plan, with accommodation in Halls Gap and surrounding towns heavily booked.
“Everything is pointing towards a massive weekend,” Mr Milburn said.
”Preparations are going well, accommodation is heavily booked around the region and we think the festival will be as good as ever.”
Mr Milburn said there would be more than 150 bands performing throughout the three-day festival.
“We will have more than 400 musicians in attendance and as many people as we can fit in,” he said.
“Everyone is looking forward to it. There is a lot of excitement around the place.
“The weather forecast is great, all the preparations have been finalised and everything will be just right for the festival.”
The Grampians Jazz Festival will celebrate 30 golden years of jazz between 5pm Friday and 6pm Sunday.
Streets, organised venues and any patch of bare ground will ring to the sounds of saxophones, trombones, banjos, trumpets and more throughout the weekend.
Highlights include a street parade at 10.00am on Saturday morning and a ‘jazz gospel service’ on Sunday morning at 9am. Badge passes (whole weekend) and single session tickets ensure entry to all venues.
Costs are weekend badge (entry to all sessions and venues) - $70.00 adult/10.00 under 18 years, all day Saturday pass - $40.00 adult, $5.00 U/18, individual single session ticket – (Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening and Sunday, each session) $25 per adult and $5.00 under 18 years.
Registration and ticket sales will be available at the Halls Gap Centenary Hall from Thursday at 2pm.
All badge event venues offer disabled access with seating provided.
Air conditioning in all venues except erected marquees.
Grampians Road in the town centre will be closed over the weekend to all traffic from 8pm Friday night until 6.30pm Sunday. It will be opened on fire rating days of extreme and code red.
The Grampians Jazz Festival was first established in 1986 by a group of keen jazz enthusiasts. The event started as a 21st birthday party at Roses Gap and has since continued as an annual reunion to the musicians and their followers. It moved to Halls Gap in 1991.
