The school is delighted with the arrival of the portables, which is the first big step towards a major refurbishment.
Funding has been provided to the school through the Andrews Labor government for a complete refurbishment. This will include demolishing old, dilapidated portables and building new, safe classrooms.
The new portables that arrived in October, will continue to be in service until the new building extensions are completed.
Principal Kate Harney said the redevelopment would allow the school to continue to grow and would be an excellent asset for Stawell.
“This will be a great development for the school and the Stawell community,” she said.
“It will allow us to provide modern classrooms and improve the way we deliver education to our students.”
Mrs Harney said enrolments had continued to grow at St Patrick’s and she expected that to continue.
