Trained by Paul Jones the eight year old gelding has had a similar preparation to last year and will be a good chance of winning on Saturday afternoon when he jumps from barrier two.
Jones said he was pleased with how his horse was going and like last year Mujadale will run the Ballarat Cup as his fifth start of this preparation.
Mujadale will run on the back of a strong showing in Ararat where he ran third despite being late to get out into the clear.
"I think he is probably in a bit better form this year than last despite not winning in Ararat," Jones said.
"Every other horse in the race are nearing in on the end of their preparation and our horse is still fresh. He will be one of the fresher horses because he is just warming up."
The Jones trained stayer carried 55 kilograms to win last years 2200 metre race and will this year carry 54 kilograms with Stephen Baster expected to take the ride.
Jones and Mujadale will be up against Melbourne Cup winning duo Darren Weir and Michelle Payne with race favourite Akzar.
The Ballarat Cup will be ran at 4.40pm Saturday.
