Cameron will join the Burras as a senior assistant coach in 2016, opting to leave the Hawks and the Mininera District Football Netball League.
McGrath will leave an Eagles side that failed to register a victory in 2015, joining the club his father and grandfather forged careers at before him.
Cameron in particular is a significant coup for the Burras, coming off a grand-final appearance with the Hawks and claiming the Lewis Medal for the Mininera district league’s best and fairest player.
Minyip-Murtoa president Andy Delahunty said it was a comfortable decision for the now former Hawk to make.
“We approached him about it but he had to weigh up about leaving Tatyoon, because he was doing a good job there,” he said.
“And a lot of clubs had shown interest, but we were really confident.
“What we offered him was a great family club with a fair bit of upside as a team.
“He’s a quality footballer, a versatile player, and a goal-kicker as well.
“It’s just that experience and leadership that we’re really looking forward to.”
Mr Delahunty said Cameron and his partner had friends at the club, which he believes helped with the decision to join the Burras.
“We were aware that they had close friends at the club. The travelling he was doing was really hard,” he said.
“We’re a team that’s pretty desperate to get into a grand final and hopefully win a grand final.
“He knows we’ve got a really good playing list that’s holding together really well.
“It’s about being comfortable about the decision you make.”
Mr Delahunty said the addition of now former Eagle McGrath would add some clout to the Burras’ forward half.
“When we played them late in the season, I think they kicked five goals and he booted four of them from centre half-forward,” he said.
“He’ll slot in nicely to our forward line.”
McGrath finished third in the Eagles’ best and fairest in 2015 after playing just nine games for the year.
