The gold dig is part of Ararat’s Golden Gateway Festival, to be held from October 16 to 25.
Registrations start at 8am, with three sessions to be held over the two days in different areas of the lake reserve. All major prizes are by entry draw, while other prizes can be unearthed at the site. There will be gold panning at no cost.
There will be a children’s section where all children will win a prize.
There will be free camping for any participants from Friday and meals can be purchased onsite.
Breakfast, lunch and a spit roast on Saturday night will be available. All catering is performed by Y’s Mens and Y’s Menettes Clubs and Volunteers.
Please come and enjoy the atmosphere that can only be found at this event.
