Make sure you are there to support the event and take part in the huge range of events scheduled for the 2015 festival, running from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 25.
In line with tradition, the festival King Bryan Kennedy and still to be crowned Queen will be presented at the Town Hall steps on Friday, October 16, at 9pm.
On Friday evening there will be a reception for volunteers and sponsors, with the opening gala ball to follow.
Tickets are now available for $30 per person.
There is a full line up of calendar events, with many new events this year and favourites returning.
U3A is kicking off with ‘100 Shades of Grey’.
There will also be story time, rock’n’roll and ballroom dancing, bingo, croquet, cinema shows, concerts, morning and afternoon teas, lunches, markets, and the return of Ararat Darts Association and the wheelbarrow race.
Don’t forget to join in the schools day, cemetery walk, garden shows, workouts, embroidery, church service, pool competition, shooting, flying, badminton, bike riding, walking, bowling, golf, bus trips, shearing and much more.
As part of the fun, there will be tours of AME and Gasons, and popular attractions Aradale and J Ward.

The grand finale will be the Golden Gateway Festival procession, with this year’s theme ‘Let’s Celebrate’.
The organising committee thanked the community for hosting the event and taking part in the festival.
“Also a huge thank you to the local businesses for their sponsorship for another year, enabling us to be the longest running festival,” Melissa Perry said, on behalf of the festival committee.
“Please join us and support as many events as you can.”
JOIN IN PROCESSION
BE part of the excitement of the Ararat Golden Gateway Festival procession on Sunday, October 25. Floats will be decorated to the theme 'Let's Celebrate'.
The procession, sponsored this year by KFC, is getting bigger each year. So, if you are a community group, school, individual, organisation, club or a sporting group, be there!
The procession will start at Edith Cavell Reserve. To be eligible for prizes, entries must be received by 2pm on Friday, October 23. The starting time will be 11.30am sharp. All children participating in the parade will be given free entry into the Ararat Show if accompanied by a paying adult.
There is prize money on offer for the most dazzling float displays. Entry forms can be found in the official festival program.
