Pulse Australia’s Industry Development Manager Mary Raynes said the day, which includes a range of Department of Economic Development Jobs Transport and Resources scientists, would provide an array of technical and topical speakers.
“This will be a day out for industry to socialise and get their teeth into the products that they produce, both literally and metaphorically.
“A morning program, which is followed by a free barbecue, will discuss the latest pulse varieties and big agronomic questions from this year into the next,” Ms Raynes said.
“The recent heat has significantly impacted pulses and Audrey Delahunty, a PhD student based in Horsham, will outline some preliminary findings on research for improving adaptation of lentil to heat stress.
“Her early results suggest potential genetic variation in tolerance during the reproductive phase.”
The event is at Pimpinio.
