BLISS FOR OWEN
Concongella trainer Owen Martin combined with his son in law Michael Sullivan to produce a stunning win at Ararat on Tuesday night with five year old mare Longtan Bliss.
Longtan Bliss has now had 44 starts with 11 wins with 6 of those wins last season.
Punters who took the long odds were rewarded with a return of $46.00 on the TAB.
GET WELL MARNIE
In the last at Stawell last Monday local trainer/driver Marnie Bibby was tipped out and crashed to the track after her horse Just Stopandstare fell.
Marnie suffered grazes and small cut to her head and was taken to the Stawell Hospital to be checked out.
After xrays cleared her of any breaks in her shoulder and neck she was released later in the evening.
Marnie is now recovering but still very sore from the accident , everyone at Stawell Harness wish her a speedy recovery.
WESTERNVIEW JACK’S THIRD WIN
Trainer Phillip Giles was back in the winners circle with his eight year old gelding Westernview Jack after his win at Stawell last week.
Sent out the raging favourite before the race Jack showed his class sitting three wide before going up to sit outside the leader for the final lap.
He went to the line to win by two meters.
With just fifteen career starts he has always shown ability before he was struck down with a virus last year.
Phil has taken his time bringing him back and in his last few starts he had shown that he was not far off a win.
MAJESTIC MIRAGE
Lightly raced trotter Majestic Mirage scored her second career win at Stawell last Monday.
The seven year old mare has only had twelve lifetime starts with two wins to her name now and five placings.
Trained by Michelle Wight at Great Western and owned by Terry Croton, Majestic Mirage was able to get a sit behind the leader before dashing clear in the sprint lane to win by over one meter.
Driver Michael Bellman continued his good form from last season after a well deserved holiday overseas with a number of our local trainers and drivers.
