STAWELL - Kaye and Mathew Skinner joined Glenn Mackay and Max Waters for a successful visit to Grange Golf Club, taking out the Fisher's IGA 27 hole ambrose (any combination) Open Day event last Sunday.

The talented quartet of Stawell golfers finished with a scratch score of 93 (13 under par) to take top honours, edging Bernie Walsh, David Cashin, Andrew McKinnon and Stuart McPherson into runner up position one shot behind on 94.
Chris Bird, Damian Scott, Jonathon Knight and Richard Dodds topped the handicap section with 98 -14 1/5 - 83 4/5. Mathew Skinner smacked the ball 255 metres to win the men's longest drive division (1) section, with Jonathon Knight taking division (2) with a 235 metre drive.
Di Burton took out ladies division (1), hitting the ball 186 metres ahead of Jane Delley, who won division (2) with her 168 metre drive.
Men's nearest pin winners were Andrew McKinnon on the second hole, Phil Iles (seventh), Wayne Whelan (ninth), Rikki McIntosh (10th) and Max Waters (14th).
Kaylene Cameron led the way for the ladies, taking out three nearest pins (second, ninth and 10th holes) while Di Burton saluted on the seventh and Eunice Balle took home the spoils on the 14th hole.
Meanwhile, John Smith was a narrow winner in Saturday's Grange Golf club day stableford competition.
Smith claimed victory with 34 points, ahead of John Hosking who finished on 33.
Smith's success didn't end there, taking out nearest pin on the men's second hole with Bill Fitzell firing on the 14th.
Tomorrow is club day, noon start.
Sunday is the Stephen Pyke Memorial stroke event, 11.30am start.
