A number of community discussion forums were recently held around the region but none took place within the Northern Grampians Shire.

Mayor Cr Murray Emerson said residents could instead have their say through a hard copy survey.

"Public transport is of great importance to our communities. It impacts on our ability to do business, to undertake employment, and to enjoy recreational pursuits," Cr Emerson said.

"If you have concerns about the current state of public transport in the Northern Grampians or suggestions for how it could be improved, it is important that you fill out the survey.

"It's equally important to note which existing services are working well and that we don't want to lose. If there is a particular service that you rely upon, please make sure that you note the importance of it in your survey response."

Council has placed hard copies of the public transport survey around the shire, including Town Halls, visitor information centres, general stores, libraries and other facilities in Stawell, St Arnaud, Marnoo, Halls Gap, Glenorchy, Great Western and Navarre.

Opinions and ideas collected through the community consultation sessions and survey submissions will be used to inform the Regional Network Development Plan.
