Stawell coach Brad Thomas said it was a well deserved win by the Warriors, who came back from 22 points down at half-time.
“Our work rate just wasn’t there in the first half, especially in the midfield,” he said.
“To come back from behind is pleasing.”
Thomas said the turnaround showed the Warriors were capable of redirecting a game.
“In the second half, everyone started playing their part,” he said.
“We honed in on our contested footy.”
The Warriors were able to hold the Roos down to just one goal in the final quarter.
Thomas said Warrior’s finals hopes were still alive.
They face Minyip-Murtoa, Warrack Eagles and Nhill in the remaining rounds.
