"It's a great project and we will continue to work to make sure that does happen, which I'm sure it will."
Cr Erwin also touched on the Stawell West Business Precinct Planning and said this was an important area for Stawell's future development.
"There has been a change of ownership there over the last 12 months or so and we would hope to see some investment there," he said.
"Frewstal are furthering their investment and this is part of that western zone. They have gone well.
"The other area is the Stawell Innovation Employment Zone. Certainly there has been an awful lot of planning work that has gone into these areas and now it is time to try and deliver.
"We have a prospectus out for any budding companies that might like to move our way.
"The department has also done a lot of work with our existing businesses and that's where you will see quite a bit of growth.
“They've done a lot of work in trying to help those businesses improve their operations, keep down their overheads and continue to grow.
"Fingers crossed, we can attract some new businesses. We've had some success and I hope it continues."
Mayor Cr Murray Emerson said it was important for the community to note that the council's investment attraction progress report goes hand in hand with the money that is available.
"We don't spend our rate money that our community puts in on doing this. We haven't got the amount of money from our rates collection to do this sort of work.
“So it gets back to the financial assistance grants and any other grants that the state and federal government might pass onto us.
"With our investment portfolios, it's very much reliant on our state and federal government providing the money for us.
“It's a fight we have now got and it's a fight we that we have to confront head on and see what we can do about it."
Mayor, Cr Murray Emerson and chief executive officer Justine Linley continue to meet with government ministers at both state and federal level to discuss shortfalls in funding.
