The Lions have been showing some promising signs despite going down in recent weeks and Bach believes his charges are about to turn the corner.
"There was some confusion among the players about the roles they were playing from week to week," Bach said.
"We had a good chat about it during the week and the players now know what is expected of them in terms of working to the structures and playing their roles."
One of those roles will be to man up and be more accountable for their opponent.
At times, the Lions have outplayed opposition teams, but have still gone down by a relatively big margin, This was clearly evident against Caramut a fortnight ago when the Lions had more of the play, only to squander opportunities and give away easy rebound goals.
"Obviously we will go into tomorrow with the goal of winning," Bach said.
"I just want the players to be more competitive and not just play good football in patches.
"When we do move the ball quickly and use each other, we look good, but we don't do it enough."
Wickliffe Lake Bolac has been in a similar position to Great Western, playing well at times but only managing two wins for the season.
If the likes of onballer Aaron Williams, ruckman Rayne Salmon, running half back Tom McCord and full-back Ben Newson can continue their form, Great Western should be able to gain the upper hand and pressure the Magpies enough to secure a win.
Unfortunately, the Lions still have injury concerns and will be missing defender Adam Bullock and forward Nick Thomas, while captain Brett Dowie is unavailable.
Despite going in undermanned, Bach believes his team can win, as long as they stay committed and work to their roles.
