There will be possibly more than 150 combined students and teachers from all fields of music converging on Stawell for the week-long event.
The school is for all players of brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments.
The first Wimmera Bands Group Music School was established in 1972. Its priority was music education and development for the community.
The average day is alternate sessions of graded AMEB theory with band/ensemble sessions. Theoretical tuition is provided from preliminary grade through to advanced harmony and arranging.
To this day all ages are accommodated for. The school provides a week of intense theory and practical instruction to the students. The practical component of the school assists the requirements of novice musicians through to VCE standard and beyond.
The school will be held in Stawell from this Friday, June 26 to Sunday, July 5. A finale concert will be held on Sunday (gold coin donation entry) at the Stawell Secondary College Hall.
Anyone who would like to assist either in donations, catering or help is welcome.
