After a shaky start Maryborough made changes in the second quarter which saw Navarre trio Jess Williamson, Jess Parry and Taylor Mason thrown down the same end.
Maryborough trailed by 10 goals at the first break which was when Mason made the move to goal shooter.
In the second quarter Maryborough were able to decrease the margin to four goals the standard of netball had certainly increased.
Maryborough captain and Navarre gun Jess Williamson said the change of their attacking structure was pivotal to turning the game around.
"When Taylor moved from defence to shooter it made a huge improvement," Williamson said.
"With Taylor, Jess Parry and myself all being from Navarre it made it easier to feed the ball into them."
Maryborough were again the stronger team in the third quarter levelling the scores before they won the last quarter and won the match.
Williamson was named best on court for the match receiving the Worksafe AFL Victoria Country Medal for her efforts in the midcourt.
"Our attacking end dominated in those three quarters," Williamson said.
Williamson felt the additional pressure of being captain, but was thankful for the experience team she had around her.
"It's a privilege to have the opportunity to represent your club at a higher level," Williamson said
"Being captain I did feel a bit more pressure, but all the girls are very experienced players so it makes the job quiet easy."
Navarre's Parry shot 22 goals and Mason 21, as Maryborough defeated Ballarat 46-43.
The Ballarat Football Netball League have two teams represented and this was their second team.
