The 23-year-old has returned to his roots after five years of study at the world renowned New Zealand College of Chiropractic in Auckland.
Born in Horsham, Dr Humphris grew up and was primary educated in Stawell and secondary educated Ararat where he now divides his time.
Dr Humphris practices alongside Dr Wally Bowers at Bowers Chiropractic Centres in both Stawell and Ararat.
He said he was happy to be home working with people and in communities that he is familiar with.
"When you are somewhere like Auckland or New Zealand, or just another country in general, when you are there for so many years you realise how good it is to be part of a small country town," he said.
"You know the people at the supermarket, the friendly faces of people down the street, as opposed to in the city where you probably only know the person you buy coffee from and your work colleagues, that's pretty isolated.
"In a smaller town you realise how much nicer it is, it is more of a community."
Dr Bowers said he was pleased to have Dr Humphris join the profession after having completed work experience at Bowers Chiropractic Centres eight years ago.
"I am absolutely thrilled to have Tyler join the practice," he said.
"He did work experience here eight years ago and I could see the real potential he had back then.
"His addition to the practice means we can be open more hours, on more days and treat more people."
Dr Humphris said it had been really good putting his chiropractic training into practice helping patients across the Stawell and Ararat districts.
He said chiropractics are commonly known for treating people with headaches, back pain and neck pain, but they also treat people with heart palpitations, vision problems, feet, dizziness and sports injuries.
"Chiropractic is mainly to do with the brain and the nervous system - the communication between the brain and the body," he said.
"We check the spinal chord and the spine and make sure that the messages are getting through.
"Then let the body do its own job, so basically promote its own self healing by letting the brain talk to the body.
"The body is much smarter than we are and has a reason for everything it does, so we find that reason and actually help correct whatever that problem is through adjusting the spine and other various things."
