Mr Davidson has been battling stage four Hodgkins lymphoma cancer since he was diagnosed at age 25, in 2011.
Organiser, Matt Jones said he and fellow organisers were overwhelmed by the level of community support that had been offered and the final amount raised.
"We were pretty wrapped, originally I thought if I could raise $5,000 that might get them a nice holiday," he said.
"As the night was going on, seeing people putting money in the tins, it was just phenomenal, it was pretty remarkable."
About 150 people attended the event which included an auction and raffles of several items donated by a range of Stawell businesses.
"A lot of the businesses gave us something but we understood not all are in a position where they were able to do that," he said.
"It was a really good turnout, everyone who was there got behind the cause.
"We sold heaps of raffle tickets and there was a lot of people who came not to bid on anything but just to make a donation towards Davo (Adrian), Chloe and the kids."
Mr Davidson said he and his family were amazed by the level of support.
"We just want to thank everyone who was involved in organising the event and everyone else who has either donated something or shown their support," he said.
"To find out that much had been raised, it was just an incredible effort, we couldn't believe it."
Mr Davidson said depending on the schedule of future treatment he would use some of the money to take his partner Chloe and two young sons on a family holiday to Darwin.
In the lead up to the event the Town Hall Hotel had raised funds for the family through meat tray raffles on Friday nights.
"Then we decided we needed to do one nice big one for him and send his family on a holiday so they could create some special memories," Mr Jones said.
"They are very modest people, they didn't want us to do anything, but we said 'no, it's going to be done'.
"The auction itself probably raised about $7,000 and the other $8,000 including the fundraising we did in the lead up, was raised through donations and selling raffle tickets on the night."
Mr Jones won't take sole credit for the success of the event, attributing that to a host of other people.
"I had Terry Lee, Karen Leithhead, Amy Kindred, Damien Smith, David Stanes and Jessica McKinnon by my side, they were a big help," he said.
"Our staff all volunteered their services on the night, they came in and worked for nothing which was also a pretty good effort."
