With Anzac Day falling tomorrow, it will give Swifts one extra day to prepare themselves for what could be the make or break game of their season.
After starting the season with two heavy losses Swifts will be out to prove to themselves and everyone else in the league they are still capable of a top three finish.
Swifts will go into the game with a lineup that is as close to full strength as they will get.
Hanns said it wouldn't be easy to win, but he was hoping they could get the job done.
"Hopefully we can get a win on the board," Hanns said.
"It isn't going to be easy with the likes of Brent Christie and Dave McLeish running through their midfield."
Swifts will welcome back Josh Newton, who missed last week with tonsillitis.
Aaron Chavasse will also bolster their defence when he returns following an injury he sustained to his nose in round one.
Swifts supporters and players will get their first look at Tim Friend as he steps out in the black white and teal for the first time.
Friend will fly in from Darwin tonight to play on Sunday and will be expected to hold down a key position in the forward line.
"You can't expect too much in his first game," Hanns said.
"He hasn't trained with us, but he knows a few of the players through playing against us. Hopefully he can settle in straight away and kick a couple for us."
Hanns will have his first real headache when it comes to selection with the three inclusions.
"It will be hard to tell someone they aren't playing this week," Hanns said.
"All the younger blokes played well and earned their senior spot last week so I'm not sure what I will do yet."
After the solid hitout against Harrow Balmoral last weekend, Swifts are grateful for the extra day of rest, as they play Sunday.
"I think the extra day will do us wonders," Hanns said.
"We had a pretty physical game against Harrow and we don't want to go in underdone. Most teams really feel it in the first couple of rounds and we are no exception to the rule."
Hanns is hoping that with the inclusion of Friend his forwards will be able to share the workload a little more.
Friend will add some height and strength to the forward line and give Swifts the target they are used to kicking to.
Andrew Cameron and Nick Raeck presented well last week, but were under too much pressure when they got the ball.
Hanns is hoping his team can kick a winning score this week.
Swifts will take on Edenhope Apsley at North Park on Sunday from 2.20pm.
