Held in conjunction with Stawell RSL and the Rotary Club of Stawell, the session at Shop 108 included the display of plans for the project.
Councillor Kevin Erwin said community members discussed the species of trees chosen for the avenue and proposed start dates for the project.
"It was pleasing to see community members turn out and discuss this important project with council, the RSL and Rotary," Cr Erwin said.
"Their input was very much appreciated.
"Many residents were researching family members and they had the opportunity to talk to members of the RSL and local historical researchers about how their relatives will be featured in the project."
Work is expected to begin on the Avenue of Honour during May. Anyone with questions about the project is encouraged to contact council on 5358 8700.
