The ditty was written as a follow up to Canberra duo Coda Conduct's performance of 'Is it a Quanger?' on Triple J earlier this month.
Coda Conduct described Queanbeyan as a 'wannabe' Canberra and made of fun of the town's oversupply of takeaway joints and fashion choices.
In retaliation, 'Quang City' pokes fun at Canberra's Skywhale, light rail plans and laughs off the 'struggletown' label.
"Queanbeyan born and bred, when you diss her it's like water off a duck's back," they rap.
The song also mentions some of the town's gems including cricketer Brad Haddin, actor George Lazenby and Mark Webber.
The rap was first unleashed on radio station ABC Canberra 666 on Monday evening and has since been replayed on Triple J.
'Quang City' has attracted plenty of attention online with comments mostly in favour of the tune.
Prime7 news presenter and producer Freya Cole tweeted, "wowee just caught Queanbeyan Mayor aka MC Overall join Macho Duck on Triple J in rebellious rap revenge to Coda Conduct."
While, Queanbeyan Young Citizen of Year Brent Hunter gave his tick of approval. He wrote, "Hearing the Mayor Tim Overall rap with Macho Duck was so funny, I nearly cried. Best retaliation ever!"
Cr Overall's rapping efforts did not go unnoticed. In the creative process he has managed to acquire a few different identities including 'Timmy O', 'Timenem' and 'Crispy Kat'.
"This is where my message starts, you know I'll be reppin' this city near and far - Queens Bridge out to Karabar," he raps in 'Quang City'.
"For your misconduct you should be arrested and charged."
TanJay81 tweeted her approval. "Okay, I think the Mayor of Queanbeyan Tim 'Timenem' Overall is my new favourite person - love him rapping to rep his town."
And budscoreman was not far behind, tweeting "Fitting send off for my last night in Queanbeyan. Queanbeyan Mayor Tim Overall drops the best verse of the song".
Chris Pratt (Sly MC) of Macho Duck said he was impressed with Cr Overall's "spittin' bars". The group, also made up of Matt Pratt (Matty Pee) Gill Raymond (Laydee Rayge)and producer Luke Young (chunksta), had already been working on a rebuttal when the mayor enlisted their help.
Just days later Cr Overall was in the Macho Duck studio and they had a fortnight to turn the track around.
"It was really easy, very laidback and he was thankful for our help," Mr Pratt said.
"For someone who's never done it before, he did really well. We wouldn't put out the song if we weren't happy with it.
"It was all in good fun - how often do you hear a town mayor rapping on a song?"
Macho Duck is currently working on their debut album which they hope to release in the next three months.
Is there a chance for another collaboration with the Mayor?
"At the moment it's a one time thing only but we'll see what the future holds," Mr Pratt said.
'Quang City' has already racked up more than 1000 listens on SoundCloud and Mr Pratt said it was great exposure for the group.
"A few of our other tracks have got a few more plays, it's all helping in putting our name out there," he said.
Some sections of the community have asked for a video to accompany 'Quang City' and Mr Pratt hasn't ruled out the possibility.
"We've never done one before, we'd be happy to do one," he said. "It'd be good fun."
In other music news, Queanbeyan's other hip hop export Omar Musa has featured on a Semantix song titled 'CBR to QBN' which was released late last week.
