Up to 400 people from all walks of life are estimated to have shown their support for the event which was primarily aimed at promoting social inclusion.
Twenty five of the town's various sporting clubs, social and community groups were represented at the event.
Volunteers provided displays and useful information in an effort to make interested members of the community more aware of the benefits of being involved.
Residents were treated to a performance from a combined choir of primary school aged children.
There was also other live music, a giant slide, arts and crafts for children, a free barbecue and a visit by Peppa Pig.
Stawell Regional Library's Sepe Illig said the fine weather conditions made for three hours of fun and enjoyment for all of the family.
"It went very well, there were more people than we could ever have expected," she said.
"There was a great community feeling, everybody commented on what a fantastic initative it was."
Ms Illig said the event was a good way for new residents to learn more about the community and for residents who have lived in Stawell for some time, to become more acquainted with their community.
"It was a really positive day for the organisers and everyone who made the effort to come along," she said.
"Thank you to all of our partners including the Northern Grampians Shire Council, because without their help this event would not have been possible."
