Almost ten years ago to the day Tom Hedges and his wife Carol decided to jump on board and help what was then a struggling club.
While they don't do it for any other reason than to support the club, CKS Swifts as a whole, are eternally grateful.
Robert Carey who has been a long serving member of the Swifts committee said it was an outstanding achievement and something that is very rare in country football these days.
"They both deserve a huge pat on the back," Carey said.
"Not only do they help out with finances, but they also put in plenty of time and effort. Carol works in the canteen and has done for ages, while Tom is on the committee."
The sponsorship was especially important for both CKS and the Swifts Football Club in their last season as they celebrated 100 years.
"They were really behind getting everyone to wear club shirts and that kind of thing," Carey said.
"Last year they put a fair bit into players and coaches to make sure we could have the best year possible. Honestly it couldn't have been any better."
After a successful run in 2002 and 2003 the club appeared to have ran its race with players and committee stepping away from the club.
"Without CKS support and financial help we might not have had that turn around to be where we are today," Carey said
"Tom turned us around."
"Without the help of the CKS Engineering group other sponsors may not have been involved so that are thanks from that aspect as well.
"To be fit enough to invest in the club as well as he has is an amazing achievement," Carey said.
"The club is part of them and they are part of the club."
Prior to their sponsorship relationship the Hedges had little to do with the football club.
CKS Swifts are currently in a strong position as a club in terms of football and netball and are looking forward to defending their title in the coming months when the new Horsham District Football League season begins.
All players, supporters and committee members could not speak highly enough of the Hedges family and what they have done for the club.
