The emerging star wasted no time making it into the winner's circle either, piloting the Peter Moody trained Valar Morghulis to victory in the Carey Covers Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate.
The three year old filly was a well backed favourite entering the race with odds of $2.50 and rightfully so, as Schofield steered her to a comfortable victory.
Terry and Karina O'Sullivan trained Mollara was a long way back in second.
In the Boronia Peak Villas Maiden Plate, the Ricky Maund trained Uncle Keithy scored an easy victory, with Schofield finishing second on Rostock.
The two were clear favourites going into the race and it was a battle of the two in the run to the judge.
Dean Yendall rode Uncle Keithy well for the three year old colt to record his first career win.
Uncle Keithy had been racing consistently around the country circuit without luck, but had what it took to break through on Monday.
Other winners on the day were Bill Cerchi trained Royal Spinner and Darren Weir's Glockenspiel.
Yendall rode Glockenspiel to produce a winning double, while Eddie Creighton was the lucky rider on Royal Spinner.
Stawell's next race meeting will be the Ecycle Solutions Stawell Cup Day on Easter Sunday.
