It was the first time the day had been granted TAB status and with that, the crowds flocked in.
Stawell had plenty of chances to win with horses from Terry and Karina O'Sullivan stables, Paul Jones stable and Dane Smith's stable all in contention throughout the day.
Hall had rides on both O'Sullivan and Jones horses, however she was only able to win aboard Carbon Cut trained by Michael Townsend.
Carbon Cut had raced 12 times since her last win in early June of 2014.
The mare has just recently returned from a 17 week spell, but Hall was happy with how she went.
"The horse did everything I asked," Hall said.
"It can sometimes be hard riding horses you haven't ridden before, but she was pretty quiet and ran on well."
The eight year old mare had plenty of work to do, but was able to make up a considerable amount of ground in the back straight before storming home to win by two lengths.
Carbon Cut was eased not long into the race to avoid the heels of High Fraar which shifted in.
Apprentice Carryn Downie was advised to show greater caution if in a similar position again.
Hall, who is an apprentice herself, has now had eight wins from her 73 rides.
Hall rode O'Sullivan trained Gun For Fun and Knight Hero to third place as well as Jones' Spanish Vixen to third place in the feature race.
