Wade has a strong involvement with harness and in particular the Manning family at Great Western given she works for Michelle's sister Kerryn.
Wight was happy with the race and more importantly the drive of Wade.
"It is good to have races like this because it gives the junior drivers a chance," Wight said
"Denbeigh drove really well and she is showing great improvement."
Aheadofhistime was in good form leading into the Chalton meeting having won at his last start.
The six year old gelding was able to get to the lead without doing too much work.
"He got a good star, and found the lead without doing too much," Wight said.
"Then he just kicked away."
Wade has driven well known Wight trained horse Wheatsheaf Avaball to wins and Wight has plenty of confidence in her.
"She follows instructions and she is learning all the time," Wight said.
Wight has no plans for Aheadofhistime, but has contemplated sending him to Adelaide in a week's time.
"He is up to a C3 now so it is a bit harder," Wight said.
Wight had two horses in yesterday's Australia Day meeting held at Stawell's Laidlaw Park.
Results from the Australia Day meeting will appear in the next edition of the Stawell Times News
