Patients and staff welcomed the arrival of 23 new beds, four of which have special high density mattresses to prevent pressure injury to high-risk patients
SRH Director of Clinical Services, Mary Bruce said the old beds and mattresses were not meeting current health care standards and have been removed.
"The old beds and mattresses were not meeting current health care standards for skin care and prevention of injury," she said.
"The new beds provide greater comfort and the improved mechanical movement options meet both patient and staff needs.
They prevent pressure injury to patients and prevent occupational health and safety injury to staff.
"Patients and staff very much appreciate the state of the art beds at Stawell Regional Health."
Four of the old beds were donated to Dunmunkle Lodge.
The others went to the Marsh foundation, a medical equipment recycling group who are improving healthcare to poorer areas of Bali and beyond since the 2002 Bali bombings.
