The organisation was created when McGregor Community Services Ararat and Stawell Intertwine Services merged in July 2013.
In presenting the inaugural Annual Report for Pinnacle, chief executive officer Brian Burke said the merger has allowed the organisation to better meet the needs of people with a disability in the face of a rapidly changing disability services sector.
Mr Burke said Pinnacle's Strategic Plan, developed in the last 12 months was influenced by key policy directions of both State and Federal Governments, including the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Mr Burke said the implementation of NDIS is a major and extremely important reform for the industry, providing people with a disability more choice and control in their lives and control over their funding.
"The introduction and implementation of the NDIS is a major change for our sector, bringing with it both opportunities and challenges," he said.
"Pinnacle has and will"continue to invest significant time and resources to ensure we are well prepared for this changing environment in which we can continue to grow and deliver high quality outcome focused service provision to those individuals and families that we support.
"People will have choice as to the types of services they want to receive, who delivers those services and how those services are delivered.
Although not a part of the NDIS Victorian trial, Mr Burke said the organisation will identify learnings from it and transition business and services in readiness for its projected roll out in 2016.
"We need to transform the way we do business and how our services are delivered," he said.
"Our practices, processes and systems need to be able to cater for this change and we have completed a considerable amount of work in this area.
"Over the coming years we will continue to look for opportunities of growth, whether it be through tender processes, developing partnerships or through diversification and development of new business that are aligned with our purpose and assist us to continue to be viable and sustainable in the long-term."
Mr Burke said prior to the historic merger McGregor Community Services Ararat and Stawell Intertwine Services had a strong working relationship.
"We were extremely fortunate that a number of the members of the then existing Boards elected to continue their voluntary involvement with the new service, ensuring representation from both Stawell and Ararat," he said.
"The growth of services over the years to our communities has been substantial and as a direct result of the leadership and direction of past and present Board members and staff working closely to ensure bigger and more vibrant service options.
"Pinnacle receives strong support from the Stawell and Ararat communities and this is very evident each year when we have excellent support from community organisations and individuals, as well as from other disability organisations in this region.
"Community support is vital and it is because of community support that has seen the development of our services throughout the years."
Mr Burke said the organisation is fortunate to be well served by a team of highly professional and dedicated staff, supporting a tremendous executive and management team made up of coordinators, managers and executive staff.
"I take this opportunity to thank all staff for their hard work leading up to the establishment of Pinnacle and throughout our first year of operation," he said.
"They work for Pinnacle because they genuinely care and want to make a difference in the lives of the people that we support.
"Right throughout the year and above all else, even through all the challenges and changes encountered, our staff ensured that the people we provide support to have continued to be at the centre of our decision making and what we do.
"The benefits that they bring to Pinnacle and the people who use our service cannot be underestimated."
