Christmas is a lovely time for the team in Simpson Ward to unite and work towards decorating the ward.
This year the theme of 'A touch of frost' has been adopted. Staff hope the patients and visitors to the ward enjoy the decorations as much as the they have enjoyed creating them.
A decision was also made to transform the Radiology Department into a winter wonderland.
Snow from above and a resting spot for Santa near the fireplace, in anticipation for Christmas eve, are just some of the amazing decorations.
Presents designed suit everyone's imagination, dreams and wishes are also under the tree.
For the hospital's Christmas tree, glitter and sparkle abounds to give everyone a sense of hope and new beginnings, as it is not Christmas without a tree.
The Transition Care Program has also been heavily involved. The program supports older people to recover from an acute illness ,by providing support services including nursing and allied health therapies, before they make a choice to return home or to enter residential care.
Lifestyle programs are a vital part of TCP. Patients have been very busy working with Allied Health Assistants in decorating the TCP lounge and garden.
They have made snowflakes, 'stained glass' decorations and stars for the windows and have been compiling Christmas memories.
Unfortunately, Santa has become stuck in the chimney.
