The Lions Club competition attracted 25 entries this year, including several businesses in Stawell.
Lights competition coordinator, Robert Scott, said the club was delighted with the number of entries received, although it made judging difficult for the Lions members on Tuesday night.
The Lions members travelled around the streets of Stawell on Tuesday judging all entries in the competition.
With various categories to choose from, including best business, best first timer, best house, best garden, encouragement award and grand champion, there were opportunities for lights displays of all shapes and sizes to be in for a prize.
Winner of the business award this year was Stawell Taxis for their outstanding display on the Western Highway. The display even included fake snowfalls as members of the public walked through the display. Singing Santas and reindeer and a working model train were just some of the many attractions in the display.
The best first time display went to K&J Cass in Clifton Avenue, best house was won by Matt and Skye Skinner in Mahnke Street, Trevor and Sandra Skurrie's D'Arcy Street display won best garden, the encouragement award was won by the display of S Honeyman in Centenary Court, while the grand champion award this year was presented to a regular entrant in the competition, David and Dorothy Hateley in O'Callaghan Street.
