Held on the first Friday of March each year, World Day of Prayer was originally a women's event, but has now embraced men and women, working together for peace.
Stawell Uniting Church was fortunate enough to host a team for a creative workshop to plan ideas for next year's World Day of Prayer.
Leaders from World Day of Prayer, Jan Pedderson, Pauline Smit, Andrea Nagy and Mark Nidenko, from the Bible Society, spoke of the focus country for 2015, The Bahamas, during their visit to the Stawell Uniting Church.
Victorian President, Andrea Nagy, spoke of The Bahamas as a place where music, colour and food come together for a great holiday experience, but there is dark side, with high levels of Domestic Violence.
People came from Avoca, Ararat, Stawell and surrounds for the workshop.
It is hoped that people from Stawell and surrounds will be able to join together next year at the Anglican Church in Stawell to support this worthy day.
