The Tour de Cure stopped over in Stawell this year and during a gala dinner, representatives including former Stawell man Paul Egan, presented Stawell Regional Health chief executive officer Liz McCourt with a cheque for $5000 towards the Oncology Unit.
Tour de Cure is a cycling foundation that wants to cure cancer.
For the past eight years Tour de Cure has worked with their ambassadors and corporate partners to engage communities across Australia.
Tour de Cure has raised more than $14 million and funded 166 cancer research, support and prevention projects helping men, women and children.
Tour de Cure is proud to also have funded three cancer breakthroughs since 2007.
In 2014 Tour de Cure aim to raise the cancer awareness of more than 25,000 Australian men, women and children as well as raise $3 million to fund cancer research, support and prevention projects via their Signature Tour, Country Tours, Corporate Tours, Ball, Day of Inspiration event and community partnerships.
